The Waikato Football Academy provides a unique opportunity for young players to accelerate their development and reach their potential as footballers.
The Waikato Football Academy training program will develop the skills of players of all levels. The sessions will build players confidence, and skills learned can assist/improve the players game.
The program is available to any player that is prepared to make a commitment to their improvement, catering to the needs of beginners through to elite level players. Session are conducted based on NZ Football Skills Centre and/or Talent Development directives outlined in various coaching resources. Sessions are planned based on age, skills level and number of attendees. The sessions follow the format of skill introduction, training scenario and game situation with a 60-75 minute session depending on difficulty and intensity.
The Academy schedule runs all year in conjunction with the school terms. There is no training on Public Holidays.
TERM 2 2024
MIXED ACADEMY SCHEDULE – 6 to 12 years
Group 1: Ages 6- 8 Years
Group 2: Ages 9-12 Years
This term our mixed Skills Centre will focus on getting players back on the ball after the summer holidays. Our coaches follow sessions based on the NZ Football Curriculum and whilst sessions may not get your blood pumping is all about Skills at this stage. These sessions build on fundamental skills to finish the season off strong, players will use with ease and confidently going into the 2024 football season.
Dates: Mondays 6th May – 24th June 2024
Time: 4.00 – 5.15pm
Cost: $119 plus training/playing kit*
Location: Galloway Park
Note: If the number of bookings and player skill levels warrant it, we may split players into groups based on age and ability however we won’t know the final numbers attending until after the first week.
*TRAINING KIT
All players are required to purchase the training or playing kit. The kit includes a shirt, shorts and socks (approx. cost $95). The kit can be purchased through our partners, Ultra Football here. Password is WFA19. Further details can be found under Academy Merchandise.
